 The Rage Gold body filler was sanded down with 36-grit sandpaper on the car. Be careful not to scratch any of the surrounding areas with the rough paper. |  Eighth-inch aluminum was used to create a new flap door on the gas tank. A Mobile Solutions speaker ring jig was used to create a perfect circle in the aluminum (order from www.mobilesolutions-usa.com). |  Three-quarter-inch MDF blocks were stacked and taped to the aluminum before being flush-routed to the desired shape. These MDF spacers keep your hand far away from the cutting blade. |
 A piece of 1/4" ABS plastic was cut to space the gas door to the desired height. |  The routed aluminum gas door was taped with 3M tape in preparation for molding it into the car. |  A sizable amount of Duraglass is used to mold the gas door into the rear fender flare. |
 Once applied, the Duraglass was allowed to completely dry overnight. |  The Duraglass was sanded down with the gas door in place on the car to ensure that it retained its shape during the sanding process. |  Rage Gold body filler was applied over the entire area to smooth and fill the sanding scratches. |
