Mix the filler and hardener thoroughly until it is an even color.

SEM plastic paint works great for these types of panels, and this Titanium Metallic color matches our Toyota panels very closely.
Tape off the original Toyota panel to protect it and act as a release agent.
Use your finger to spread the Metal Glaze around the edges of the panel and the radar detector display.
Spray three to four coats of primer on the piece to fill small voids and sanding scratches.
Spray three to four coats of paint, let it dry for a few hours, then bolt it all back together. As you can see, we end up with a nice clean look that can be completely hidden with the factory cover.
Screw the plastic panel in place and tape off the holes so they don't get filler in them. Tape off the radar detector controller and push it through the hole in the panel. Tape it in place temporarily on the backside.
After the filler is cured, remove the panel and the radar detector display. Sand down the filler using 150-grit sandpaper, working toward a smooth finish that blends perfectly into the factory panel.
When finished, the primer should look smooth and shiny like this.
