Factory locations also won the bid when it came to the cabin speakers: Focal 165 KF components, 100KP separates and 165 K2P components. "It's an excellent speaker," Harker says of his choice. "After listening to everything, that's what I chose because they sounded the best." Like we always say, trust your ears! Everyone makes different choices based upon what their ears tell them.
Underneath custom Focal grilles, the 6.5" component went in the front door for the front stage, with the tweeter going into the dash. A 4-incher dropped into the factory center channel location. For rear fill, the rear 6x9 factory location was modified to accommodate the 6.5" midbass from the component set with the tweeter set into the C-pillar (the guys dyed the cover to match the interior).
The last bit of the install, a pair of 7-inch Concept monitors was tucked into the headrests. Harker picked these up from a previous install and decided to use them in his 300C, though he plans to upgrade them to Alpine monitors soon. Rounding it out, a Viper S900 with a GPS system keeps tabs on the vehicle, which, with over $20,000 worth of upgrades, needs the security.
So far, Harker's 300C has won second place at the Chicago Dub show and Best Chrysler in Show. He plans to show the car heavily this year as well as give it some new paint. "My favorite thing about the car is people at local shows seeing the car say, 'Oh, another 300.' " Harker relates. "Then they get close and say, 'Wow, that is nice. I like the blank.' " Harker will probably hear that a lot this year. Thanks go to his wife Stefani for putting up with his obsession with the car as well as the crew at Sound Decision, including Sean Young, Brian Mobley and Jeff Baldwin.
