The premier sanctioning body for sport compact drag racing, the NHRA, presents the NHRA Xpl_d Sport Compact Racing Series at eight tracks across the country from April through October. The series features the largest guaranteed sport compact event purse of more than $27,000 paid out per event.
Five championship classes (Pro RWD, Pro FWD, Modified, Hot Rod and Honda Tuning All Motor) highlight the series. At all eight of the stand-alone NHRA Xpl_d Sport Compact Racing Series events, the NHRA Xpl_d Stylefest with the NHRA Sound Challenge incorporate lifestyle and entertainment elements of the sport compact scene.
To check out the series from the comfort of your couch, watch the shows dedicated to the action on the track. For more, tune into ESPN2 for nine shows at the end of the year focusing on the NHRA Xpl_d Stylefest and one show devoted to the NHRA Xpl_d Sport Compact Racing Series Award Ceremony.
Sony's partnership with the NHRA is perfectly timed with the upcoming release of NHRA Championship Drag Racing. Developed by ValuSoft for the PlayStation 2, the game brings the intensity of the drag strip to your TV. For more information on the NHRA Xpl_d Sport Compact Racing Series, visit
