Acoustic Edge Institute
The Acoustic Edge Institute is a full service mobile electronics,fabrication and custom interior educational center with schools located inOklahoma City, OK, Houston, TX and Chicago, IL. The school's basic program (MEI) is afour week class that covers mobile audio and video, as well as security andnavigation installation training. The MEI course also features sections on enclosure design andconstruction, along with MECP certification preparation and testing.
The custom fabrication program (FAB) provides four weeks oftraining and includes an introduction to the proper use of Duraglass, bodyfiller, fiberglass and Plexiglass, as well as instruction in the proper useof the router. During the program's second week, students work withpolyester resin, fiberglass mat, fleece, milled fibers, MEKP and otheradvanced materials. Two-part foam, framing and advanced use of the pin router are addressed in weeks three and four.
The Institute's four week custom interiors program (CIC) includes an introduction to custom interiors, seat design and construction, interior design and fabrication, and advanced custom interiors. During the course, students work on motorcycle seats and headliners, as well as advanced stitching.
In addition to traditional Oemobile training, the school offers a class in OeM&M, or multimedia, training. This four week class targets residential electronics installation and includes alarms (both fire and intrusion), intercoms, cable, phones and personal assistance. The course alsocovers home theater, whole house audio, and home automation, as well assurveillance (cameras) and access control systems.
The Acoustic Edge Institute's classes are small in size (usually four to eight people) and they all provide an abundance of Oehands on time (approximately 80%). Financialassistance services are available, as well as lifetime job placement services in all 50states for current students, in addition to alumni. The Institute is the only school of its kind in the country with more than two locations.

To Enroll
Student enrollees must be at least 16 years old to attend classes. Any student under 18 must have a legal guardian sign the enrollment contract. No credit is given for previous training or work experience. Must show: high school diploma, GED or equivalency test given by the school. (Any eligible person may attend any class without having had a prior class except course 10.)
