Itrip
Griffin's new iTrip Auto FM transmitter ($70) is diminutive, about the size of their dock-mounted variant, except connected to both iPod and cigarette lighter via wire. This one keeps your iPod charged while it's plugged in. The unit works with any dock-connector-style iPod and still has the features of previous iTrip models that are easy and intuitive to use, including a backlit LCD screen. We were happy to be able to select frequencies as low as 87.9mHz in our crowded urban area. It seemed to have better reception/transmission than the dock-mounted model-most likely a result of transmission through the wiring, which also allowed placement closer to the actual antenna. Unsurprising conlusion:thousands of songs at your disposal, but not for audiophiles.www.griffintechnology.com
