Mischief Presented By: Teckademics
This DVD starts off right with a BMW doing the big burnout 360 in front of the White House. And street racing takes on a new meaning with the added attractions such as vehicular abuse of rental cars, snow drifting X5, and Audi AWD donuts (not that we condone certain activities shown, but it does make for some outrageous entertainment). It's a must have DVD for any auto enthusiast of the extreme nature. What more can I say than go ahead and buy this one and the new one ("Mischief 3000") that should be on the shelf by the time you read this. This one covers the Gumball Rally, the race that went across America, and I am sure some more insane action. Go to your local DVD retailer or hit the site: www.teckademics.com.

High Octane 2
One wishes the material were as funny as the makers of the DVD had intended. Comedy (those skits and sketches) aside, this is terrific viddy material with all kinds of cars gone wild. There's something for everyone: a WRX, Skylines and 200sx's, a Porsche, a Toyota MR2 with a wide body kit that looks unbelievable, etc. This is an entertaining and informative DVD. The best part is that these madcap car mavens from New Zealand take you to the track so you can see hardcore drag enthusiasts go up against one another, horsepower vs. horsepower. And there's a lot of it in this disc. There's some good tech info to be had as well. And if you own an MR2 you have the upgrade process right here all on one DVD. Finally, where there are cars, there are women (there's even one female racer with a fair ride), so there's the obligatory bikini contest for good measure.
Transambient 2
It could be better, sure, but it's not a bad start. Hey, anything to help market the music. The tunes on Trans 2 get progressively better as you go along. The second video, "Earthbound", is our favorite, with some tasty and tantalizing music by Mark Summers. Visual Cortex provides the imagery. "Rama" is also very strong musically with some truly interesting shots. In general all of the material is worthwhile and there are some good examples of videography and video editing, but at times it does come across a bit awkward. No doubt your viewing pleasure would be much improved under the influence of a little something or other, but we did not have that luxury at the time. As background entertainment, this DVD is perfect. Should work well at a small get together. Chill out to some fine music and don't ignore the hit 'n' miss imagery. There are some gems there. Just be patient.
