An Alpine PDX-4.150 (150 watts by 2) would power the Focals and a PDX-1.1000 mono block (1,000 watts by 1) would run the JL Audio subs. "Those amps are very small," Young says. "We mount them under seats and have no problems with overheating, and they're easy to set up and tune." The amps would be mounted on the sub box and the shop would fashion a trim panel made out of 11/44" MDF and wrapped in vinyl to fit around the amplifiers for a flush look.
Stinger accessories for the system would include a SP680 180-amp battery with a capacity of 50 farads, an SWK0 1/0-gauge power wiring kit, SPD812 power-distribution block, SBT17 RCA cables and SSW16BLK5 speaker cable. The head unit would require a Metra dash kit and wiring harness.
A system like this depends a lot on the customer's desires, Young says. "The customer would be highly involved in planning a system like this. After all, it's their car not ours," he says. "They are the ones who will be enjoying it for the next five years or so."
