Interior And Doors
When it came to the reconstruction of the Mustang's door panels, it's best to let Smith explain: "We wanted to take the Mustang's interior up several levels of quality. We thought the stock interior was cool stylistically, but used very low-rent materials and had some really ugly touches, like the silly looking 8-inch speaker grilles in the bottom of each door." When you look at the new door panels, the meticulous attention to detail is evident. The beautiful stitching along with the accents, gives the doors an up-market look that would be at home in a BMW or Lexus. When added to the upgraded dash along with the center stack and center console, the result is the kind of interior that Ford should have offered all along. While the base Mustang must be aggressively priced, there's no excuse for using cheap, shiny plastics that would look out of place when some competitors do it so much better.
