Go East, Young Man!The United States Autosound Competition has entered into an agreement with two promoters who will coordinate USAC-sanctioned events in Japan and Taiwan. "There is a great deal of interest in car audio competition in both Taiwan and Japan," said Ralph Randall, president of USAC. "There will be at least a dozen sanctioned events in each country and we're very confident that participation and attendance will be outstanding."
Mitek Purchases Esoteric Audio USAMitek entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of Esoteric Audio USA, according to Loyd Ivey, CEO of Mitek Corporation. The purchase includes the accessory inventory and trade names for Esoteric Audio USA, StreetWires, Tiff, GoldQuest and Noise Killer.
"Within the audio community, there is considerable respect for these brands and the accessory products sold under the brands," said Ivey. "StreetWires has been in more IASCA-winning cars than all other wire and cable brands combined. And the Esoteric Audio USA products virtually started the high-end home audio and video connections business. It's a heritage that we respect and admire; and we are very pleased to bring [these companies] under the Mitek Corporation umbrella."
This acquisition allows Mitek to consolidate overheads, and should help it improve its time-to-market for existing and new products.
