There are cars, and then there are Porsches. The fortunate owners of the German-crafted automobiles can easily distinguish the differences between the two. Dave Johnson, CEO and president of Acoustic Edge Institute, is one of those lucky individuals who can attest to those differences. He recently purchased this silver '07 Porsche Cayman S for both business and (lots of) pleasure.
Zero to 60 in 5 seconds, a quarter-mile in 13.2 seconds, 251 lb-ft of torque, 295 horses underhood and a top speed of 171 mph are several of the impressive specs with which Johnson can enlighten any onlooker. There is, however, more to it than what's seen on the surface. In addition to the power and performance underhood, his Cayman S has an even more bolstering characteristic: an incredible audio system that was installed within just a few weeks after he obtained the vehicle.

Johnson wanted a sound system that would be up to par with Porsche's excellent reputation in speed, quality, and performance. Furthermore, the system had to fit inside the vehicle's small confined space without affecting its driveability, match the fit and finish of the Porsche's immaculate interior and, most of all, produce the full spectrum of sound with incredible detail. If there were a team of installers capable of fulfilling such requirements, it would be Johnson and his band of AEI instructors who could execute the job. After all, they're the head honchos of a vocational school dedicated to teaching high-end car audio, video, and security installations.
