A legend on the competition circuit, Harry Kimura's 1988 Acura Legend Coupe underwent its transformation from stock to SQ darling within a few days of purchase. Speakerworks in Orange County took care of the installation featuring Alpine amps, USD speakers and an extra trunk battery.
Above the Alpine compact disc changer a Nakamichi TD-700 cassette tuner heads up the system in the dash. Down near the floor a midrange and tweeter lodge in kickpanel enclosures, a unique choice in those days. Meanwhile a 6 1/2'-inch Dynaudio speaker is in the doors.
Below the rear deck, subwoofers and midwoofers provide some lower frequencies. Meanwhile, the trunk features a clean layout of eight Alpine amplifiers, equalizers and the extra battery. A false floor covers it all up.
