With the headliner fabricated over the pair of Sony XVM-H65 flip-down monitors, the design had to be spot-on. Fixing any problems after the headliner was installed would just be too difficult. Housing for each monitor mounts to a right-angle reduction gear with a custom hinge bracket. "The design of the hinge allows for the monitors to pivot out of their closed position without compromising the tight seamlessness of the headliner," Prusia explains. Each reduction gear has a pair of custom speedo cables that run to the trunk and attach to a motor assembly there.
Eckert's Rod and Custom in Molalla, Oreg., performed the extensive body modifications. They include removing all the body seams, incorporating four taillights from a '70s Corvette, and trimming the rear bumper for a sleek, subtle change. The main body is shot with PPG "Silver Star" paint. Custom 18x9 and 20x11 wheels by Intro are wrapped with Toyo Proxes T1R 225/35-18s and 305/30-20s tires, respectively.
