CA&E: What about the construction of the amprack?
CT: We used one of the new 4-channel SR amps from Polk Audio, mounted under the hood. The amprack is made of 1/2" square steel tubing all welded together. Next to it, there are also the crossovers for the SR 5.25" convertibles.
CA&E: What was your favorite part of the install?
CT: My favorite part is the sub enclosure-the heart and soul of the sound system. The special thing is you can't see it. When you look at the car you don't expect there to be a subwoofer. You have to look up under the dash to see it. But if you turn it off, it doesn't feel the same.
CA&E: What was the most difficult part?
CT: There were no hard parts-it was all fun, but don't forget it is still a race car.
CA&E: Did you have to upgrade the power system for the new audio equipment?
CT: Being a race car it already had plenty of power. But yes there were upgrades: power wire, RCAs, speaker wires-all from Monster Cable. We ran it from front to back of the car.
CA&E: Who else helped on this project?
CT: In addition to myself, Mike Gelb of Matt Works LTD worked on the audio system.
