The cozy cabin transforms into a concert hall when all 15 speakers are fired up. Power comes from the twin Blaupunkt amps, located behind the seats in an MDF/fiberglass framework that serves as both an amprack and a sub enclosure. The first Blaupunkt GTA280 amp activates the four 10" Overdrive Series subs, slim enough so that two were mounted in the doors for midbass while the other two were located in the traditional ported enclosure behind the seats. The combination distributes the low frequencies evenly throughout the cabin. The second GTA480 amp powers the front stage, sending signal to the separated 6.5" Blaupunkt component sets in the doors and the second pair in the door pillars for rear fill. To increase ambience, an additional set of 1" tweeters were installed on the upper portion of the dash in their own miniature fiberglass enclosures. The small, center channel speaker for the surround sound resides in the center A/C vent.
The Dakota Digital dashboard and Grant Signature Series steering wheel update the interior look even more, along with the bright Dupont Hot Hues Copper Pearl inserts that highlight the components. The truck is equipped with an air suspension system and the Dakota Digital Automatic Ride Control above the rearview mirror allows precise tailoring of the truck's altitude, bringing it back to the same point each time and protecting those expensive Toyos from wear due to misalignment.
Out Back
As soon as all the body mods were complete and the electronics were in place, it was time for paint. Ray "Solo" Fuentes and his team in Clermont, FL, added several new body mods, blocked the body until it was glass smooth and shot the truck using Greeves' design and Dupont Hot Hues Copper Pearl with black paint. To add even more excitement, Solo added his trademark realistic flames to the hoodscoop, tail and side mirrors.
To complete the package, a set of KMC "SS" rims matched the truck's Super Stepside "SS" logo perfectly and provided the classic look Greeves was after. The 20s up front and the 24s in the rear use Toyo 35- and 30-series rubber that sticks like glue and gets the truck rolling in style. Now that his dream truck is complete, the question he hears most is, "Hey, what is that?" Greeves kids with curious spectators telling them that he'll give them a quarter if they can tell him what it is-he still has a pocket full of change!
