Kranitz & Co. treated the front doors in the same fashion as the rear (see below). Note the strip of black that runs along top of the doors and all around the dash. The installers took out this factory insert, sanded it down and repainted it a piano black. They did the same thing with the bezel that surrounds the aftermarket dash kit. This simple modification took less than a day to do and really gives the Lucerne a sleeker look.
A simple cut-and-tuck job got the 6.5" Kenwood monitors in the front seat headrests. Rear seat passengers can then play games from the PlayStation2 embedded in the armrest. Kranitz took apart the flip-down armrest, made a 11/44" MDF box to hold the game console, re-foamed it and covered it with the original upholstery (plus croc skin on top to carry the posh theme). When the armrest is down, you can peer into the hidden compartment that holds the batteries. In addition to the upgraded batteries, Kranitz upgraded all the ground and factory wiring.
The original doors featured the basic combination of plastic, leather and carpet. Kingpin stripped down the doors to the raw panel and rebuilt it using standard fiberglass techniques. Now it holds a 3-way set made up of TXC5.1 2-way components with the add-on TXC6.0 midbass. Kranitz prefers this setup over the basic 2-way set when using MTX's top-of-the-line components. The suede wraps around the speaker enclosure area, while croc skin covers the original factory insert.
