The monitor that faces the driver cannot show any videos. Instead, it can be used as a safety concept in a variety of scenarios. For example, maps from a navigation system can be shown to provide directions to a destination. A second scenario allows the driver to use this screen as a rear view mirror (a camera is mounted in the rear of the vehicle to display a view of traffic or obstacles ). A third scenario or mode permits the driver to monitor what is going on with the kids in the back seat without turning his head . For this purpose cameras are mounted in the middle seat area to provide such a view. There is also an LCD panel on the driver's sun visor offers night vision because this screen is connected to an infrared camera that is mounted to the front of the vehicle.
The monitor occupying the area that once belonged to the rear view mirror (angled toward the front passenger seat) can exhibit video entertainment. So anyone occupying this seat can watch a movie playing on a DVD player which has been included just for this screen. The passenger listens to the video through wireless headphones. The passenger can also switch to the mode that permits the viewing of the kids in the back seats. In addition, there is a pull up station for connection of a keyboard and laptop computer. This permits access for the front passenger to connect to the Internet.
The Center Seat Area is dedicated to interactive gaming. Attached to the rear of each of the front seats is a built-in game steering wheel. Moreover, 15-inch LCD monitors fold down from the ceiling above each rear seat.
The steering wheels are connected to computers and these PCs run the games. So the two passengers that occupy these seats can enjoy an interactive game in which they compete with each other. The steering wheels and the Recaro racing seats the passengers sit in simulate the realism of the game and vibrate to simulate great driving action.
When all the senses are involved the event seems more real. So it is not surprising that the best processors have been included to provide realistic surround sound for the people occupying these seats. That is furnished by a 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound processor which is connected to PCs. The processor is helped along by two amplifiers: a 4-channel amp and a 2-channel amp. And for a little bit extra boom and shake an 8-inch Kicker Solobaric subwoofer plays and vibrates from behind each seat; and as if that weren't enough, shakers or tranducers have been mounted under each seat to offer even more shaking.
