Eight-inch monitors for the...
Eight-inch monitors for the driver and front passenger. These LCDs are angled for easy viewing and offer more than visual distractions. The driver can view traffic behind him via a camera mounted in the rear of the vehicle.
Don't think that the suspension was ignored. To match the current and probably future trend of owners having the ability to lower their vehicles on command, Rosen Products included an air bag suspension system that raises and lowers the vehicle on the left and right sides as well as the front and rear. Of course, there are switches mounted next to the driver that allow him to work the air bags.
Prepping the Interior
Obviously, if you are going to include a sophisticated audio/video system in a vehicle, you are going to want to prevent the introduction of road noise and unwanted vibration into the interior. So it is not surprising that the interior of this Lexus was gutted right down to the shell. Sound dampening material was laid throughout. Then, while the vehicle was still in its gutted state, the wires were laid and routed to locations where products would be mounted. A cable was directed from the power source to the location where the distribution block would be mounted and 4 gauge cable was run from this location to where the amplifiers were to be placed. Speaker wires were routed to speaker locations.
The stock speakers were re-placed into the factory locations in the front of the vehicle when the interior was reconstructed. The stock speakers for the rear of the vehicle were not returned but instead replaced with better aftermarket speakers, and are built into the cover of the compartment in which much of the electronics are stored. A center speaker was added and plays from its mount in an overhead console.
Stations for Entertainment and Information
If you have kids and you and your spouse are Internet junkies, you will love what is coming and what this vehicle has to offer. Because of the nature of the vehicle, before it was even first worked on, the construction team at Rosen conveniently divided it into three sections : Front Seat Area, Center Seats, and Rear Area.
The first thing that comes to one's attention when expecting the driver's and front passenger seat area is that the rear view mirror has been replaced by two patent pending 8-inch 16 x 9 wide format LCD monitors. Each monitor has been angled - one toward the driver and one toward the passenger.
