The VCR is mounted under the driver's seat and housed in an enclosure finished off in vinyl to match the vehicle interior. Under that passengers seat is an Alpine CHA-S624 6-disc CD Changer mounted in a similar housing. There was enough room here to also mount the TV Tuner. The navigation unit was installed in the rear of the vehicle.
Finishing Touches
Underneath the hood, the factory battery was removed in lieu of two StreetWires 1050 batteries. A Cascade 75-amp power supply is installed under the hood using a custom steel rack attached to the frame. Suite can simply plug the vehicle in instead of keeping the car running at events. Anderson also modified an aftermarket intake to make it fit under the hood. Eighteen-inch TSW VX1's wrapped in Toyo Tires (225/40-18) are complimented with an Eibach lowering springs to give the vehicle an appealing stance. A Xenon body kit rounds out the look of the vehicle while a Borla exhaust system gives the PT Cruiser a throaty hum. Of course, the body of the vehicle has several Alpine decals.
The vehicle has made several appearances at dealer events and at the NOPI Nationals. Not only has it been a huge success, but it has done the job of attracting almost anybody that walks by. Suite would like to send his deepest appreciation to his employees for all of their support through the years. They are Mark Barber, Gary Balding, Todd Suite, Carol Howard, Anne Suite, Jayne Pell, and Sherri Longworth. Special thanks also goes out to Bill Raimondi and Glenn Ihrke of Alpine Electronics of America. Finally, thanks to Chris Anderson and Tim Gertz on a job well done.
