The Kenwood CCD-2000 universal rearview camera was installed above the license plate for good viewing while backing up.
We made sure that the dash fit without any more modifying before priming.
The Kenwood KOS-V1000 and the KCA-BT100 are behind the seat and out of the way.
The USB is in use on the Kenwood. Bluetooth is active as well.
Taping off the part prevented us from getting body filler all over the place. We used Ultraglass as the first step for filling as a strong foundation.
Once dry, we assembled the dash to put it back in the car.
Here everything is back in the dash and looks stock.
Mounting the microphone on the pillar makes it easy for the caller to hear you. The Bluetooth box was mounted in the back wall.
After drying time, we sanded it to make it all smooth and ready for the final step of filling.
We used a polyester primer from Evercoat, which you can spray in a very thick coat. Once that was dry, it was time to sand again, starting with 220, 320, 400 and wet 600-grit sandpaper. That should get you to a good finish for paint.
Indication here that the backup camera works.
