OptimaExcitement at the Optima booth centered around the winner of their Full Ride Contest, Eric Jankowski and his 1972 Chevy Chevelle. After being chosen from 2,500 entries, Jankowski's ride underwent a $50,000 upgrade that included products from General Motors, Hotchkiss, Bonspeed, Energy Suspension, MSD Ignition, K&N, Magnaflow, JBL, Edelbrock, Eibach and Baer Brakes. Built by Sean Hyland Motorsport of Woodstock, Ontario, the Chevelle was filmed for Dream Car Garage at the show.

PioneerNoting that the navi market is expected to increase 163 percent during 2007, Pioneer released their latest in-dash unit, the AVIC-D3. Fitting into most double-DIN openings for a safe factory look, the unit offers more features than you would expect from an OE system, such as voice prompting, telephone number search, NavTraffic, iPod Direct connection, expanded Bluetooth capabilities, and MP3, WMA, AAC, DivX and DVD-video playback, even while the unit is providing navigation guidance.

PlayStation GT awardsDuring its fourth annual Gran Turismo awards at SEMA, Sony searched for the latest vehicle to immortalize in their video game franchise. Out of hundreds of entries and five categories, the winner of Best in Show went to Craig and his 1960 Chevrolet Corvette. It and last year's winner are destined to be race-ready in a future iteration of Gran Turismo. Currently, the winners from 2003 and 2004 can be raced in Gran Turismo 4. Journalists and automotive industry personalities selected the top car in each of the five categories while the Best in Show was bestowed by GT creator, Kazunori Yamauchi. At the Hard Rock Hotel, awards were given at a party that included performances by rock band Foreigner and Pharrell Williams' DJ, Jus Ske. Guests also got to test their skills on GT HD for the PS3.
