If you're into car audio, you go to cES as much for the cars as the products that are displayed in the vehicles. While it isn't exactly the SEma Show, cES does have its share of amazing rides. of course, every year people anticipate the annual demo car from alpine. For the last five years or so the company has boggled minds with their over-the-top creations. Last year it was the concept-like mBZ r500 that had the cES crowd oohing and aahing. For 2008 they went in a radically new direction with their fully custom boat (and when we say custom, we mean every inch of it...). Somehow gary Bell, Brent davison and Steve Brown also managed to customize a mercedes SuV as well for the show. Look for the details on the truck and boat in the next issue.

With the marine crowd fixated on alpine's boat, hot rod and classic car enthusiasts circled around a '56 Bel-air at the Kenwood booth. The company went all out this year, commissioning dave rivera to build something daring and innovative, an old car with all new electronics technology. See the feature in this issue.
But aside from the big names, there were plenty of other worthy vehicles at the show, including a morgan at Boss audio, the mercedes at image dynamics and the multiple custom creations at Scosche and realm. check out the cars here in our special cES car gallery and look for stories on some of the best custom rides in the industry in future issues this summer.
