CA&E: Right, Kenwood for example is now making a unit that is almost everything you need in one unit, with a touch screen. It makes the space thing work, too. Any pointers for the industry though?
Swizz: Yeah, bigger buttons on some units. Driving 6 speed, going 95 on the Hutch, in the dark, makes it hard to find those tiny buttons. Easier interface navigation for the same reason on those high-end computerized head units, know what I mean?
CA&E: Great point, I stab at buttons sometimes hoping to hit the right one 'cause they are so small. What do you think of all the wild fiberglass work you see in this book, the really comprehensive jobs?
Swizz: I think they look hot, I would do some more fiberglass, just not all over the whole interior anymore, though. Stealth, you know!?!
CA&E: Who would you say are some of the real autosport enthusiasts in the music/entertainment business?
Swizz: Busta Rhymes, Baby of Cash Money Millionaires, Outkast, Nelly, Iverson, Shaq no doubt.
CA&E: You are passionately into cars, a lot of people in the entertainment industry front like they are into cars and use it as part of their hustle, but this is really you. What is your favorite aspect, owning a collection, overall tuning aesthetic, performance?Swizz: Thanks for the compliment, it's hard to say. I really love cars for their driving performance aspects; and I'm a collector. I like to learn new things about engine performance, turbo chargers, etc, so I can honestly say that I am an autosport enthusiast, it's part of my life.
CA&E: Speaking of the entertainment industry, your album is out July 16 in stores: Swizz Beatz presents G.H.E.T.T.O Stories. The single is big in New York where we are from. Are you out promoting it now in the stores and the streets, doing shows all over the country? Tell us about it.
Swizz: Yeah, I am on promo tour now; I'm here in L.A. doing the BET Awards, retail and radio stops and reaching out to the people. I'm the type of artist who reaches out to the fans and music lovers, and I stay reaching out and making that contact with the fans.
CA&E: So is the Lamborghini Murcielago possibly your next hot ride?
Swizz: I am looking at new cars, so (he says this with a big smile) possibly.
CA&E: Oh and thanks, it was big of you to suggest I drive. I was touched.
Swizz: It's a good look for you.
CA&E: By the way, one last question. Are there any other car audio type magazines you read?
Swizz: Nah, I don't need to really. Car Audio has everything I need, music, equipment wise, and you guys have the celebrity rides that I like to check out, things I've never seen. And I like to read the scandal and dirt (laughing) in your column, too, Asia.
