Sitting behind the second row of leather bucket seats is a custom sub box loaded with a pair of Kicker Solobaric 12" subs. To match the red trim inside the Yukon, the baskets of the Solobarics were painted red. Hiding that in a box would be crazy so the back of the sub box is made from 3/4-inch Plexiglas. The subs are mounted facing down and highlighted by red neon inside the enclosure.
On top of the sub box is a custom amp rack. It holds a PPI 4400 and a PPI 2600. The amps are internally cooled by fans keeping the whole thing under control. The 4400 is a 4-channel amp and runs the MB Quart speakers in the front and rear doors. The 2600 sends mega power to the Solobarics just beneath.
Connecting everything are Stinger accessories. Power, speaker and RCA wires are all Stinger. Under the hood, the factory battery is gone and was replaced with a Stinger SVR battery on one side, and a second one on the other. It's good to know that even though the GM redesigned the Yukon a pair of batteries will still fit under the hood.
Ferg figures he'll keep this one for at least a couple of years. He's incredibly happy with Unique Autosport's work and some of that has to be credited to his system's installer and designer, Reme.
For now the Yukon is Ferg's main ride. But recently, while this story was being developed for publication he purchased through UA the F350 Harley Davidson truck. This extended cab vehicle sports 22" Lowenhart LD1 chrome wheels. Ferg is something of a car collector. So if the Jets were to win the Superbowl in 2002, then Ferg just might be adding a few more vehicles to his collection.
